Quimet & Quimet is one of the most famous and charming tapas bars in El Poble Sec, Barcelona. From the outside it looks like just another wine shop, but there are a thousand treasures hidden in this beautiful bodega de tapas. The story behind Quimet & Quimet starts as a humble local wine purveyor, where the owners soon discovered their passion for pairing the wines with small, bite-sized delights like cured meats, preserved vegetables, fish and olives; originally to help support their wine sales.

Within time, Quimet & Quimet evolved to its current iconic standing on the Barcelona culinary scene; somehow, despite the praise, they’ve managed to maintain that same soul from those simpler times. Remarkable is that they are known for the conservas – foods that are preserved through canning or jarring, many of which are displayed for sale on shelves behind the bar. And trust us, it’s difficult to choose!
