MOS

Take a peak

Dine with a view in the up-and-coming north district of Amsterdam. On the new city island IJdock, in the shadow of the Palace of Justice, you will find Mos. Chef Egon van Hoof who used to cook at Aan de Poel started this restaurant after he decided it was time to start on his own. The three floors are decorated with a lot of copper, turquoise chairs, chandeliers, palms and wall carpets, not at all like what you’d find elsewhere in Amsterdam. In this modern building you wouldn’t expect such French-Arabic style. The terrace offers a beautiful view on the IJ which is a perfect spot for calm lunches or romantic dinners.

The food at Mos is based on French-international dishes, you will find creations like soft-baked fish with smoked eel, compote of roasted pumpkin and apple and delicious desserts including hazelnut, pear and caramel chocolate. Maître-D and Sommelier Henry Pattiwael is a master when it comes to matching the wines, so best to leave him in charge of that important task. To add even more star power to this hidden treasure, in December 2016, Mos was gilded with its first Michelin star.
