The latest addition to the Hotel Café Royal, on elegant Regent Street in the heart of London’s West End, Papillon offers casual all-day dining in the tradition of European café culture.

The interior has a warm ambiance from honey-coloured marble, contrasting with frequently-changing floral displays – we visited during London Fashion Week when the windows were filled with couture-inspired installations. It offered a haven of calm amid the hustle and bustle of the city, for hotel guests seeking an informal dinner to cocktail aficionados and those seeking an early evening indulgent dessert before or after the theatre.

The menu ranges from an extensive breakfast selection to light dinner options featuring British and French influences. We enjoyed the buckwheat crêpes and a clever trompe-l’œil plum mousse. Papillon’s knowledgeable and friendly staff are happy to guide you through the wine list and offer recommendations.
