Nanashi

East-West crossovers

Located in the hip Marais district, the social eatery Nanashi is one of the most buzzing places to be right now. Young Parisians who are passionate about organic produce and simple Japanese cuisine find their way here and keep coming back. This orient-meets-occident gem is owned by Kaori Endo, former pastry chef at the local Rose Bakery and author of the book Une Japonaise à Paris. No wonder Nanashi has become a mainstay on our (and their) food maps.

At Nanashi, not everything is vegan but everything is simple. Here you’ll come to love the minimalist approach, open kitchen, white walls and light wooden tables hosting styled-down plates popping with fresh, local ingredients. The Scandinavian setup with Japanese inspiration uncomplicates this east/west fusion. Try the bento boxes! We prefer the vegetarian version with grilled tofu on a bed of quinoa, mashed avocado and three colourful salads, all of which won’t break the bank and keep you coming back for more.
