Hija de Sanchez

Mexico in Denmark?

Not something you see everyday, the former pastry chef of Noma (one of the world’s top-ranked and most influential restaurants) runs a taco stand nowadays. Rosio Sanchez grew up in a Mexican-American household and lived in Denmark for 6 years before opening Hija de Sanchez. After working in Noma for five years, she was craving homespun Mexican food up to the point where she decided to do something about it.

This taco stand is nothing like the taco stands you might know. Sanchez and her small team make their own tortillas and are very creative with serving highly refined takes on the Mexican mainstays. To make the experience as authentic as possible she imports the corn and chilies from Oaxaca, Mexico. Other products such as Queasily (Mexican string of cheese) are made locally with Danish milk. So if you are on the hunt for a good taco in Copenhagen, this is the place to be.
