Gaggan

Indian progressive molecular

On a small street in the centre of Bangkok we found one of Thailand’s best, most treasured but most hidden jewels. Gaggan resides in a beautiful white-washed, colonial style house, a walk to the interior will be met with warmth in a captivating atmosphere quite unique for such a bustling area.

Indian-born Chef and Owner Gaggan Anand, after having completing his studies, followed up with an internship in Spain under El Bulli’s famous tutelage. It was there he fell in love with molecular cuisine which became the drive to open his doors in Bangkok back in 2010.

Gaggan channels his Indian roots and reinterprets traditional ingredients with many of the heart-warming flavours we’ve come to love from Indian cuisine, though in new and innovative ways. The restaurant serves only one menu consisting of around twenty dishes – our favourite (and it was hard to pick!) was the Story of a Fish Called Kin-Medai, which came to the table as four separate takes on its preparation in honour of the fish from face to fin.
