Frenchie

A new star in Covent Garden

Gregory Marchand has a famous history in the English capital; in his younger years he graced the halls at the Savoy, Mandarin Oriental and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen. According to gastronomic myth it was Jamie Oliver that gave him the nickname Frenchie, not knowing that years later Marchand would move to Paris only to open a restaurant, wine bar and wine shop carrying that name. Frenchie has done very well for himself in Paris but his return to London was inevitable.

Frenchie’s menu is mostly inspired by his travels from London to New York through Spain and Hong Kong, and you’ll find an echo of the Parisian influences in the simple yet lavish sharing dishes or the brilliant 5-course Carte Blanche menu. The shotgun entrance opens up the squarish room with a large marble-topped bar. The walls are starch white, tables without cloths and the exquisite oak hardwood floors.

Try the Rabbit Ragù Pappardelle and Bitter Chocolate Crumble with Bacon Ice cream. Yes you read that right, bacon ice cream. Keep it up Frenchie!
